Wrought Iron Sculptural Form, French Folk Art, 19th century

Striking wrought iron element originally part of a rural cart mechanism, France, 19th century.

Presented today as a sculptural object, the piece is defined by its strong verticality and expressive, hand-forged curves. A compelling example of French vernacular craftsmanship, where functional necessity gives rise to an unexpectedly modern sculptural presence.
