Just keep the knife blade vertical and draw it along the stones. For serrated blades, use the rounded edges of the stones for precision. The Sharpmaker includes two sets of ceramic stones: medium-grit (brown) for sharpening and fine (white) for finishing. Aluminum safety rods protect your hands, and all components fit neatly into the base for easy storage. It also comes with a detailed instruction book and DVD for sharpening various tools.
